Resplandor de Vida or “Radiance of Life” is the name given to the Children’s home established in the outskirts of Juarez. As it is translated, we were inspired by the following scripture: “Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee.” Isaiah 60:1
Levántate, resplandece, porque ha llegado tu luz y la gloria del SEÑOR ha amanecido sobre ti. Isaias 60:1
This mission includes the construction of two children’s dormitories, one of which is complete, a main building that consists of a dining hall, kitchen, director’s home, staff housing, offices and classrooms. The property is completely surrounded by a 9’ wall with two gates.
Until the second dormitory is finished, Dormitory #1 is being used for both boys and girls. It has been constructed with a dividing wall in the hallway so that each side is complete with children’s bedrooms, living room, bathrooms and staff apartments. Resplandor de Vida received the Certificate of Occupancy for Dormitory # 1 from the Mexican government on May 12, 2010 and the children’s home was dedicated on October 2, 2010.
The construction on Dormitory #2 is going well. The chapel is finished and being used daily as the music classroom where Maestro Jorge Ricardo teaches the children how to play the drums, keyboard and guitar. The children’s Monday evening service is held there as well as other programs.
We have wonderful news to share with you!!
Resplandor de Vida Children’s dormitory #2 construction has resumed and is going wonderfully, all praise to the Lord! This building will be a home to 25 children, staff housing, a library, chapel, & offices.
Please keep this construction project in your prayers. We are so thankful to God for His provision, the crew and this additional home for more children in the future. If you would like these photos in attachments to show at your church, please let me know and I will send them on to you.
